Set it up

  1. Narrow the court to about half width with tape or cones.
  2. Form teams of two or three.

Run the drill

  1. Rallies start with a toss over the net instead of a serve.
  2. Teams must use three contacts whenever possible.
  3. Play to seven. The winner stays, the loser rotates off.

What to say

  • Three touches.
  • Do not send it over on one.
  • Call the ball every time.

Play to 7. Winning team stays, losing team rotates off.

Make it harder

  1. Start rallies with an underhand serve instead of a toss.
  2. Then widen the court.
