Learn to see the block and choose your shot in the air.
Set it up
- A live setter and hitter on one side.
- One or two blockers on the other side.
Run the drill
- Blockers vary their position, sometimes taking line, sometimes angle.
- The hitter must see the block and pick a shot.
- Score two for a kill into the open area, one for a smart tool.
What to say
- Look at their hands before you swing.
- Hit where they are not.
- Use their hands if they are closed.
How to score it
2 points for a kill into the open area, 1 for a smart tool off the block's hands and out, 0 for a blocked ball or error.
Make it harder
- Blockers add a fake — showing one position and jumping to another.
