Set it up

1. A live setter and hitter on one side.
2. One or two blockers on the other side.

Run the drill

1. Blockers vary their position, sometimes taking line, sometimes angle.
2. The hitter must see the block and pick a shot.
3. Score two for a kill into the open area, one for a smart tool.

What to say

• Look at their hands before you swing.
• Hit where they are not.
• Use their hands if they are closed.

How to score it

2 points for a kill into the open area, 1 for a smart tool off the block's hands and out, 0 for a blocked ball or error.

Make it harder

1. Blockers add a fake — showing one position and jumping to another.
