What players are learning
Learn to deliver a pass to a specific place, not just keep it up.
Set it up
- Tape a six-foot box at the setter's target zone.
- The coach serves a controlled ball from across the net.
Run the drill
- Passers receive and try to land the ball inside the box.
- The pass must be above net height to count.
- Score three for the box, one for catchable, zero for unplayable.
What to say
- Every pass has an address.
- High and inside the box.
- Angle the platform, do not swing at it.
How to score it
In the box = 3, catchable but outside = 1, unplayable = 0. First to 20.
Make it harder
- Shrink the box.
- Then require the ball to be passed on the move.
