Set it up
- The setter at the target zone.
- The middle hitter starts at the net.
Run the drill
- The middle starts their approach as the pass travels to the setter.
- They are in the air before the set leaves the setter's hands.
- The setter puts the ball just above their hand.
What to say
- You jump first, the set comes second.
- Do not wait to see the ball.
- Arm up and ready early.
How to score it
10 reps. Count how many the hitter contacts at full extension without waiting.
Make it harder
- Add a middle blocker who has to read it.
