What players are learning
Learn to attack from behind the 10-foot line legally.
Set it up
- The hitter starts well behind the 10-foot line.
- A coach or live setter feeds.
Run the drill
- Approach and jump from behind the line with no swing.
- Then add a full swing off a coach toss.
- Then run it live off a setter.
What to say
- Take off early, land late.
- The line is under your feet before you jump.
- Broad jump forward, do not jump straight up.
How to score it
Any takeoff on or in front of the 10-foot line is a fault regardless of the result.
Make it harder
- Run it live inside a scrimmage as a required attack option.
