Develop setter footwork and location after a realistic defensive start.
Set it up
- Put the setter in right-back base, a passer in middle-back, and targets at the pins.
Run the drill
- The coach tosses to the passer as the setter releases to the net.
- The passer sends balls both on and off target.
- The setter calls and delivers to the assigned pin; rotate after eight reps.
What to say
- Release when the ball is contacted.
- Beat the pass to the net.
- Square late enough to stay neutral.
