What players are learning
Develop successful overhand serving with age-appropriate distance progressions.
Set it up
- Create serving lines at 15, 20, and 30 feet from the net.
Run the drill
- Players begin at the closest line.
- After two successful serves, move back one line.
- If control disappears, move forward and rebuild the motion.
What to say
- Success before distance.
- Small toss, strong hand.
- Step toward where you want the ball to go.
