What players are learning
Learn to communicate and cover space as a group with no pressure on you.
Set it up
- The group forms a circle about 20 feet across.
- One ball to start.
Run the drill
- Keep the ball off the floor using legal contacts.
- No player may touch the ball twice in a row.
- Count consecutive contacts and chase the team record.
What to say
- Talk before you touch.
- Call the ball loud and early.
- Play the ball up, not across.
How to score it
Team record for consecutive contacts. Post it on the wall and chase it every practice.
Make it harder
- Shrink the circle.
- Then require pass-set-pass-set alternating contacts.
