What players are learning
Learn to block and then immediately become a hitter.
Set it up
- A blocker at the net with a coach on a box opposite.
- A live setter behind them.
Run the drill
- The blocker blocks a ball and lands.
- They immediately pull off the net to their approach position.
- They attack the next set. Run eight full cycles.
What to say
- Land, turn, pull off.
- The block is step one, not the whole job.
- Get all the way off the net.
How to score it
8 cycles. Both the block and the attack have to be executed.
Make it harder
- Add a second block before the transition, so it's block-block-attack.
