Learn to play the balls that deflect off your own block.
Set it up
- Two blockers at the net.
- Back-row defenders behind them.
Run the drill
- The coach hits into the block on purpose.
- Defenders play the deflections that drop in front of or behind the block.
- Run 12 balls into the block and count recoveries.
What to say
- Behind the block is not a safe place to stand.
- Get low and get close.
- Expect the deflection every time.
