Quick look
10 minutes 3–8 playersIntermediateChoose up to three drills, then let the builder complete and time your practice.
What players are learning
Learn to set behind you without changing your hands.
Set it up
- The setter stands at the net.
- A tosser in front and a target behind.
Run the drill
- Set straight up 10 times.
- Then arch slightly and set just behind your head.
- Then deliver a full back set to the right-side target.
What to say
- Same hands as a front set.
- Arch your back, do not lean back.
- Push up and behind.
How to score it
8 of 10 back sets reaching the target zone.
Make it harder
- Mix front and back sets so the setter's body posture doesn't tip off which one is coming.
