Coach throughout

  • Let players move closer instead of reinforcing poor mechanics.
  • Avoid elimination games that leave struggling servers inactive.
  • Measure improvement against each player's starting point.

Make it fit

  • Allow underhand serving throughout for younger teams.
  • For intermediate players, use Short-Deep Serving in place of Serve Over the River.
  • With limited balls, pair one server with one retriever.
Close with this

"A reliable serve is a routine you can repeat. Calm, simple, and in the court gives your team a chance to play."
